When I was a kid, I didn’t have a laptop, iPod, iPhone, PS3, Wifi, cellphones or designer clothes and branded shoes. I played outside with friends, bruised my knees, made up stories and played hide and seek. I drank from a garden hose. Bathed in the rain and swam in the resulting flood. I slept in a crib with lead lined paint. Toys were sticks, rocks or flattened bottlecaps. Plastic toys were a luxury only the rich could afford. A matchbox was not a toy car, but something to start a fire with. I ate what my mom made. I would think twice before I say “no” to my parents! Life wasn’t hard, it was good & I survived. Re-post this if you appreciate the way you were raised.
